Doreen Mattingly is an oil painter based in San Diego, California. After a long and rewarding career in higher education, she is finally pursuing her lifetime dream of making art the center of her life.
Her goal as an artist is to produce landscape paintings that capture a “sense of place.” The subjects of most of her paintings are locations that she loves deeply: the Sierra Nevada mountains, Southern California deserts, and of course the California coastline.
She has studied in person with Ramona artist Pat Kelly, and virtually with Idaho artist Scott Christensen.
Her paintings are on display at Southwestern Artists Association, Studio 23, Spanish Village Art Center, Balboa Park, San Diego. https://swartistsassociation.com/
