Among the local up and coming artists is Kelly Coffman, known for his hybrid art. Kelly mixes photo-realism with abstract and has established himself as the master of motion art, a combination of airbrush painting and acrylic hand painting on hand grinded aluminum panels which allows light to reflect from the aluminum, creating an illusion of motion. However he does work with several different Mediums with Surrealism, and Impressionistic.

While motion art is uncommon and interesting, it’s actually Kelly’s subject matter that causes excitement. Along with his art he has also embraced the subject of our oceans and protecting the habitat for their many species. The negative effects of climate change, damage and pollution caused by humans have had a significant impact on marine life. This has motivated Kelly to reach out to nonprofit ocean conservationists to help raise money for the cause by using his artwork.

Most recently, Kelly collaborated with a prominent conservationist Ocean Ramsey (with almost 2 million followers), who featured Kelly’s artwork on her company’s website www.oneoceandiving.com. Kelly’s artwork was auctioned off to benefit shark conservation.
